Small Business Banking has 3 Types of Users:
A Primary Business Administrator has the highest level of entitlements. Business Administrators are able to view all Tax ID Numbers, complete various business transactions, customize limits, and add additional users within their company profile. Secondary Approval is needed from an Admin for any event that requires dual control.
A Secondary Business Administrator has the same ability as a Primary Business Administrator but goes a step further by adding more security for the business through Secondary Approval. Events that trigger Secondary approval are:
- ACH or Wire Template creation or update
- Initiation of an ACH or Wire for payment or collection
- The next ACH or Wire payment in a recurring series is within 2 days of the effective date
- Business user creation or update
Additional Users can be created by the Business Administrator after Small Business Banking access is granted. These users can have access to as much or little as the administrator would like.
Click here for the User Guide. Page 15 will walk you through setting up new users and assigning their privileges.
Under My Settings scroll down to Other Settings. Select Alerts & Notifications to set up alerts.

During the time the retained check is available, you agree to keep it in a secure location and promptly provide it to Stockman upon request.

ACH
Please refer to our ACH Education Card located under ACH Resources.
Initiating ACH and Wire payments may require approval with dual control, where the initiator cannot approve their own work. Other events that trigger an approval are creating or updating an ACH or Wire Template, importing an ACH file, or if the next payment in a recurring transfer is within 2 days of the effective date. Dual control is not required if the business only has a Primary Admin. Primary Admins have the ability to require dual approval for business users upon creation or set a threshold that any file greater than the threshold amount requires second approval.
A prenote is a non-Monetary Entry initiated by an Originator to the Receiving Depository Financial Institution (RDFI) prior to the initiation of the first credit or debit Entry to a Receiver’s account. They are used to confirm that the recipient’s bank information is accurate. Upon creating a prenote within Small Business Banking, a mandatory 2 day waiting period is enforced. After the 2 day waiting period, the business can initiate ACH payments to that recipient. Prenotes are required when creating a template prior to initiating a payment on the template.
